An LCMS pastor responds to someone struggling with whether they should pursue the office of the ministry because of their sin:
This is NOT about YOU or how you feel....the question is WHAT DOES GOD WANT YOU TO DO? By concentrating on our own worth we would seem to imply that some of us are more worthy or without sin or with lesser sins. YOu know what the Bible says about that.. there is none that is without sin... we have all fallen and come short of the the glory of God. So pray that God would make it clear to you what His will is, through Jesus's name and say Thank YOu for being EVEN considered. Remember, everyone is called to be a minister in some way even grandmothers who don't, in many cases, even have a great EDUCATION! ... for all it is our duty to Thank and to Praise.. God above all things. if

In the 1930s and 40s two relatively unconnected things happened in Europe. In Oxford, England a group of Christian writers formed the world’s most famous informal writing club, the Inklings. This group, led by C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, along with Owen Barfield, Charles Williams and, to a lesser extent, numerous others, met to discuss ideas, trends, and their writing projects. On the other side of the English Channel, this same period witnessed the growth of Fascism and Nazism, the Holocaust, and the outbreak of the most devastating war in history. This course will look at the writings published by the Inklings, Lewis, Tolkien, and Williams specifically, between 1937 and 1945 and try to discern how they addressed the growing question of evil in the world. This course can be considered a case-study in how Christians responded to the problem of evil in the world. This study will address each work as literature but looking also at the Christian truths confessed in them and how t
MARK THE DATE: Concordia Lutheran Seminary, Edmonton Sacred Convocation Friday, May 29, 2020 7:00 p.m. MDT Live ONLINE at: https://youtu.be/fyo95XOsz54 Watch from home as SEVEN new pastoral candidates receive their first Call into ministry, and TWO vicar/interns are placed for service. We thank God for His marvelous blessing upon these men and their families, and upon His Church here in Canada, as Lutheran servants and congregations are connected through this assignment. Graduating students will also receive their degrees and theological diplomas. Honoree Fran Wershler will receive the Faith in Life recognition. Nearly two-thirds ($650,000) of the funding needed to train these pastors and vicar/interns comes from congregations and individuals across the Church. Thank you for your critical role as a donor to train these pastors (and deacons). Because we are mission minded, a tithe of our convocation donations will also support the LCC mission work in Southeast As
