CLS offers Hebrew Course

Starting on Tuesday, September 5, Concordia Lutheran Seminary is offering an exciting new way to learn Biblical Hebrew.  It uses a "living language" approach, focusing mostly on hearing and speaking so that Hebrew becomes embedded in the brain.  Reading and writing, while important, are secondary emphases.  The goal is to provide a comfortable familiarity with Hebrew that creates a richer and more nuanced understanding of the Old Testament texts, while still providing the ability to produce a solid translation where required.

This is a 9 month course being offered by distance education, so you can access it on the internet from anywhere.  It meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. (Mountain Time).  It's taught by Rev. Darren Dressler, who began specialising in Hebrew when he was a seminary student.

Cost is $250/semester (Church-workers in Lutheran Church-Canada pay even less.)  Open to laypeople, pastors and pre-seminary students.
