Seminarians Take Wing

A weekend of practical experience in Western Canadian churches is offered each year to second-year seminarians and sponsored by the CLS Guild. Since it began, Take Wing has landed in 48 Lutheran Church–Canada congregations, from Thunder Bay, Ont., to Vancouver Island and offers students practical experience, assistance for pastors and congregations, and a look at how ministers are made.

The Blessings of Endowments

A number of renewed and new endowments were recently added to CLS's revenues, especially for student financial aid and operations. Among those endowments changed, earnings from the Dr. Eugene and Mrs. Sandra Lechelt Endowment now support faculty needs, the Gabert Family Endowment now also supports student financial aid and the Hermann & Helene Neudecker Endowment has been broadened in scope. Recently added funds include the Samuel Gabert Endowment, Fifth Faculty Endowment, David & Ione Gitzel Endowment, Rev. Dr. Elroy Treit Endowment, Chris & Esther Gabert Endowment, and Jack & Linda Mackellar Endowment.
